Tracy Bligh has been creating, exhibiting and teaching art for over 20 years. She received her art education from The University of Texas in Austin where she met her husband Neil. During that time she also took art classes at Laguna Gloria Art Museum and private painting lessons from Priscilla Ferguson, a professional Texas oil painter.
In 1995, after the birth of their two children, Tracy began teaching art out of her home. She eventually leased a studio space, and in September of 2005 purchased a downtown building in New Braunfels, TX on Seguin Ave and founded Alla Prima Art Studio and Gallery. She taught art classes to youth and adults for ten more years until her retirement in 2015. Alla Prima Art Studio is still going strong with a new location and owner Brooke Treadwell (allaprimaartstudio.com).
Tracy has mentored thousands of youth in her community. She has volunteered her time teaching art at schools, churches, girl scout troops, community events, various fundraisers and Art for the Hearts, a non-profit organization in Wimberley, TX. She has hosted art openings and exhibits for many prominent Texas artists as well as fundraising art events for several different local charities including The Crisis Center of Comal County, Upstarts for at risk youth, the Humane Society of New Braunfels and workshops for Hope Hospice.
Although oil painting is currently Tracy's medium of choice, she has vast experience teaching ceramics, watercolor, acrylic and oil painting, pastels, mosaics and drawing. She has exhibited her work in various South Texas galleries, in Telluride, CO and Breckenidge, CO.
In August of 2017 Tracy and Neil moved to Breckenridge, Colorado. Tracy teaches oil painting at Breckenridge Creative Arts and owns a traveling art party business servicing Summit County, CO. Her art studio and gallery, Colorado Brushstrokes, is located at 114 Washington Ave in Breckenridge, CO.
